2. Earth : Interior Structure : Earth Movements, Endogenetic and Exogenetic movements, Plate Tectonics, Types of Folds and Faults, Theories of Isostasy : Airy and Pratt. Earth- quakes and Volcanoes.

3. Geomorphic Processes : Weathering, Mass Wasting, Cycle of Erosion : Davis and Penck.
4. Evolution of Landforms (Erosional and Depositional) : Fluvial, Karst, Aeolian, Glacial and Coastal, Applied

CARTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES IN GEOMORPHOLOGY
1. Cartography : Nature, Scope and History of Cartography.
2. Scales : Concept and Application : Graphical Construction of Plane, Comparative and Diagonal Scales.
3. Map Projections : Classification, Properties and Uses; Graphical Construction of Polar Zenithal Stereographic, Bonne’s and Mercator’s Projections and reference to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Projection.
4. Topographical Map : Elements of map reading and Interpretation of toposheets, Cross and Longitudinal Profiles, Serial Profile, Slope Analysis : Wentworth’s method. Field Visit Dam/Minning. Practical Record : A Project File in pencil, comprising one exercise each, on the scale, map projection, interpretation of topographic sheet and slope analysis, Field report.
