सांख्यिकी एक बहुआयामी बहु-प्रयोगी विषय है। सांख्यिकी के सामान्य सिद्धान्त एवं अध्ययन के अतिरिक्त एक विशिष्ट शाखा ”व्यावहारिक सांख्यिकी“ है, जो सांख्यिकी के व्यावहारिक समंक संकलन एवं विश्लेषण से सम्बन्धित है और एक पृथक एवं विशिष्ट अध्ययन है। इसीलिए लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय ने सांख्यिकी को दो पृथक विषयों में विभाजित किया है – सांख्यिकीय रीतियों तथा ‘व्यावहारिक एवं व्यावसायिक सांख्यिकी’ प्रथम विषय के लिए मेरी अन्य पुस्तक प्रकाशित है। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक पूर्णतः दूसरे विषय के अध्ययन के लिए लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय के बी. काॅम. तृतीय वर्ष के नवीनतम् संशोधित पाठ्यक्रम के अनुसार तैयार की गई है।

व्यावहारिक एवं व्यावसायिक सांख्यिकी Applied & Business Statistics Book की विशेषतायें निम्न प्रकार हैं:
