    प्रबन्ध के सिद्धान्त Essentials of Management Book लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय के बी. कॉम. सेमेस्टर-I के नवीन पाठ्यक्रम के आधार पर तैयार की गई है।

    भारत में भी प्रबन्ध विषय का महत्व दिनोंदिन बढ़ रहा है। सन् 1990 के बाद तो भारत में अपनाई जा रही आर्थिक उदारीकरण तथा भूमण्डलीकरण की नीतियों ने दक्ष व प्रशिक्षित प्रबन्ध की आवश्यकता कई गुनी बढ़ा दी है। विदेशी कम्पनियों से बढ़ती प्रतिस्पर्द्धा तथा बाजारों के अन्तर्राष्ट्रीयकरण ने भारतीय कम्पनियों के सामने चुनौतीपूर्ण स्थिति उत्पन्न कर दी है। ऐसी दशा में या तो इन कम्पनियों को पेशेवर प्रबन्ध पर जोर देना होगा अन्यथा इन कम्पनियों का अस्तित्व ही खतरे में पड़ जाएगा। यह बात अब भारत की बड़ी, मध्यम तथा लघु आकार वाली सभी कम्पनियों/व्यवसायों पर लागू होती है। प्रबन्ध के इस महत्व को स्वीकार कर अब ‘प्रबन्ध विषय’ स्नातक स्तर पर लगभग सभी विश्वविद्यालयों के पाठ्यक्रमों में सम्मिलित कर लिया गया है।

    इस पुस्तक की निम्न विशेषताएं हैं:

    • पुस्तक की भाषा को छात्रों के स्तर का ध्यान रखते हुए सरल, रुचिकर तथा बोधगम्य बनाया गया है।
    • प्रबन्ध के ऐसे सिद्धान्तों तथा अवधारणाओं को जो छात्रों की दृष्टि से समझने में कठिन हैं, भारतीय परिवेश तथा कम्पनियों के उदाहरणों द्वारा स्पष्ट करने का प्रयास किया गया है।

    • पुस्तक में प्रत्येक अध्याय के अन्त में दीर्घ उत्तरीय, लघु उत्तरीय तथा वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रश्न दिये गये हैं, जो सामान्यतया परीक्षा में पूछे जाते हैं। छात्र को अध्याय पढ़ लेने के बाद इन प्रश्नों के उत्तर खोजने में कोई कठिनाई नहीं होगी।
    • लगभग प्रत्येक अध्याय में वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रश्न तीन प्रकार के दिए गए हैं साथ ही उनके उत्तर भी अंकित किए गए हैं। ये वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रश्न न केवल बी. कॉम. की परीक्षा के लिए ही उपयोगी हैं, बल्कि प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं के लिए भी उपयोगी सिद्ध होंगे।

    प्रबन्ध के सिद्धान्त Essentials of Management Book श्री देव सुमन उत्तराखंड विश्वविद्यालय के बी. कॉम. प्रथम सेमेस्टर के नवीन पाठ्यक्रम के आधार पर तैयार की गई है।
    भारत में भी प्रबन्ध विषय का महत्व दिनोंदिन बढ़ रहा है। सन् 1990 के बाद तो भारत में अपनाई जा रही आर्थिक उदारीकरण तथा भूमण्डलीकरण की नीतियों ने दक्ष व प्रशिक्षित प्रबन्ध की आवश्यकता कई गुनी बढ़ा दी है। विदेशी कम्पनियों से बढ़ती प्रतिस्पर्द्धा तथा बाजारों के अन्तर्राष्ट्रीयकरण ने भारतीय कम्पनियों के सामने चुनौतीपूर्ण स्थिति उत्पन्न कर दी है। ऐसी दशा में या तो इन कम्पनियों को पेशेवर प्रबन्ध पर जोर देना होगा अन्यथा इन कम्पनियों का अस्तित्व ही खतरे में पड़ जाएगा। यह बात अब भारत की बड़ी, मध्यम तथा लघु आकार वाली सभी कम्पनियों/व्यवसायों पर लागू होती है। प्रबन्ध के इस महत्व को स्वीकार कर अब ‘प्रबन्ध विषय’ स्नातक स्तर पर लगभग सभी विश्वविद्यालयों के पाठ्यक्रमों में सम्मिलित कर लिया गया है।
    इस पुस्तक की निम्न विशेषताएं हैं :

    • पुस्तक की भाषा को छात्रों के स्तर का ध्यान रखते हुए सरल, रुचिकर तथा बोधगम्य बनाया गया है।
    • प्रबन्ध के ऐसे सिद्धान्तों तथा अवधारणाओं को जो छात्रों की दृष्टि से समझने में कठिन हैं, भारतीय परिवेश तथा कम्पनियों के उदाहरणों द्वारा स्पष्ट करने का प्रयास किया गया है।
    • प्रबन्ध के कुछेक सिद्धान्तों को आवश्यकतानुसार तालिकाओं तथा चित्रों की सहायता से बोधगम्य बनाया गया है।
