The Labour Welfare Laws book has been prepared according to the syllabus of B.Com. Semester-V of Lucknow University, Lucknow.
Education is an instrument of change. The right type of education at the right time can bring about positivity in the outlook of society, attitudinal changes to face the new/fresh challenges, and the courage to face difficult situations. As the needs of the society in general, and some groups in particular, keep on changing with time, the methods and techniques required for fulfilling those aspirations also have to be modified accordingly.
This can be very effectively achieved by the incorporation of the latest amendments at regular intervals of time. A static curriculum does not serve any purpose until and unless it is updated with the required changes, as it does not cater to the current needs and aspirations of the individual and society. Therefore, once again special care has been taken into consideration to make the book of Labour Welfare Laws updated, user friendly, interesting, and attractive to the readers.
The most unique feature of the book is that at the beginning of the book two chapters The Code on Social Security, 2019 and The Social Security schemes in India have been incorporated which are most relevant to the Labour Welfare Laws.
Following Acts have been replaced by The Code on Social Security, 2019:
- The Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948
- The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972
- The Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952
- Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923
- Trade Unions Act, 1926 has been replaced by the Code on Industrial Relations, 2019.
